Today, the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption started the process of assessing sectors with a high risk of corruption in accordance with the Methodology of the Council of Europe. As a result of this activity, it is expected that the sectors with high corruption potential will be identified, so that the institutions can focus the adequate preventive measures and fight against this harmful phenomenon.
The two experts of the Council of Europe, Mr. Valts Kalnins and Mrs. Nieves Zuniga, who are also the main drafters of the methodology for the sectoral mapping of corruption, together with the Working Group of the Agency, for two days in a row, will be presented, reviewed and proposed differently in order to adapt this methodology to the Kosovar context .
Mr. Yll Buleshkaj, Director of the Agency, at the opening of this workshop emphasized the great importance of this activity not only for the institution that implements the evaluation but for the Kosovar society in general. Corruption risk mapping will allow to identify and assess the sectors, activities and functions with the highest risk of corruption, which is essential for designing measures, better allocation of anti-corruption resources.
Mr. Edmon Dunga, logged online by the Council of Europe, welcomed the decision of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption to implement this methodology in the sectoral risk assessment and promised to continue supporting this process.
